A KIND OF GUISE 2016AW

We have always been keeping it local when it comes to manufacturing. The pride and sensibility that goes along with German engineering is at the very core of what we do. While keeping the old tradition alive, we also want to develop together with the manufacturers, creating new products, new looks and keep challenging each other to become better and be more creative. Working with Ger- man manufacturers allows us to realize the maximum potential of an idea, as the close proximity between the small factories and our studio gives us enough time to really nurture the designs and the quality of each prod- uct and also experiment with details and do numerous tweaks in the process leading up to the final product, giving each a very distinctive and original look, feel and functionality.

Sourcing fabrics and materials of high quality and in- teresting textures is also a main point of focus for us, as it is also one of the most enjoyable components of our work. This winter we are once again working with Steiff, the world renowned German manufacturer of teddybear toys, producing fur collar linings made from luxurious baby alpaca wool. We also got together with another well known name in the fabric industry, Harris Tweed of Scot- land, sourcing their great wool fabrics for jackets, caps, bow ties and a tailored suit. For our knitwear we contin- ue to use yarns spun and dyed in Great Britain and have added an Italian mohair-blend to our standard qualities of superfine merino and lambswool. The fabrics for shirts and linings are mainly of Italian origin, in poplin and flannel cotton qualities as well as new interesting woven structures and indigo dyeing. We have always been keep- ing it local when it comes to manufacturing. The pride and sensibility that goes along with German engineering is at the very core of what we do. While keeping the old tradition alive, we also want to develop together with the manufacturers, creating new products, new looks and keep challenging each other to become better and be more creative. Working with German manufacturers allows us to realize the maximum potential of an idea, as the close proximity between the small factories and our studio gives us enough time to really nurture the designs and the quality of each product and also exper- iment with details and do numerous tweaks in the pro- cess leading up to the final product, giving each a very distinctive and original look, feel and functionality. We also continue to develop new and unique qualities and colours together with German fabric mills. On the more technical side of things, we have again sourced some great water-repellent nylons from Japan for outerwear, 16 oz. wool and moleskin fabrics for trousers as well as Aus- trian and Italian water-repellent wool fabrics for coats and jackets. Going further into detail with the materials, we are using German nappa lamb leather and goat suede for gloves, bonding and other little details on various garments. We have also used leather buttons along with mother of pearl, horn, brass and wood buttons through- out the collection, all sourced in Germany. We hope you will notice and enjoy the attention paid to detail in all the these aspects of the process of creating our garments.
